Model Answer:

Well, ideally speaking, I would never really want to be in a position where I would try some jobs but not enjoy it. But, unfortunately, we don’t live in an ideal world, and therefore, like many others, I also tried a couple of jobs at some point of my life but didn’t really enjoy them much.

Anyway, one of those jobs, which I tried but didn’t like much, involved being an Information Officer at one of the biggest amusement parks of my country. This was the second job of my professional career after finishing my university, so I took this job really seriously.

But, as time started to pass, I began to realize that this job was not going to do any good for me. In fact, all I was doing at my job was to read some materials on how to improve the service of the amusement park without any scope for implementation from my part. On the other hand, my job responsibilities actually included, but not limited to, interacting with the customers on a regular basis in order to inform them about the benefits of each activity in the amusement park except, of course, the park management didn’t have any guidelines to invite the guests to come up to me and ask questions.

Of course, I tried to arrange short sessions for the incoming guests to interact with me and ask me questions about our services, but very few people showed any interest in such information-sharing sessions. Besides, I also needed to help the park management to settle disputes which sometimes would arise between the junior park officers and the visiting guests. But, anyway, after doing this for about 6 or 7 months, I decided to quit.

I guess, I didn’t enjoy the job and quit, primarily because I felt like my skills and expertise were not being properly valued in order to make me feel like an important part of the park. I didn’t enjoy it also because I got bored of sitting at my desk for too long and not being able to do anything meaningful.
